Video playing on this tab
Everything you need,
nothing you don't
Pop Video gives you a real separate window with real controls — not a fake overlay on the page.
Always-On Floating Window
The video pops into its own browser window that stays on top of all other applications — not just Chrome tabs. Drag it anywhere, resize to any dimensions, use it on a second monitor.
Built-In Playback Controls
Full independent control bar: play/pause, skip forward/backward, volume slider, playback speed (0.25x–2x), progress bar, subtitle toggle, sleep timer, fullscreen, and pop-back button.
Keyboard Shortcut
Press Alt+P anytime to pop the current video out, or to pop it back. Works from any tab — as long as there is a video on the page, Alt+P handles it.
Hover Button & Right-Click Menu
Hover over any video to see a pop-out button appear. Or right-click on any video and select "Pop Video — pop out this video" from the context menu.
Per-Site Settings Memory
Pop Video remembers your window size and playback speed for each website. Netflix at one size, YouTube at another — it saves and restores automatically.
Sleep Timer
Watching before bed? Set a sleep timer from 1 to 480 minutes. When the timer runs out, the video automatically pauses. Start, stop, or adjust it anytime.
Keep Screen Awake
Enable "Keep screen awake" and Pop Video holds a Wake Lock on your device while playing. Prevents your screen from dimming during long videos or movies.
Subtitle Size Control
Subtitles too small in the floating window? Scale them from 0.5x to 3x relative to the site's default subtitle size. Simple multiplier in settings.
Statistics Overlay
Press the I key while a video is popped out to toggle an overlay showing real-time stats: video resolution, frame rate, dropped frames, and buffer health.
Theme Support
Choose between three themes: Match system (auto light/dark), Light, or Dark. The floating window's UI adapts to your choice. The video always displays as-is.
Settings Backup & Sync
Export all your settings — per-site sizes, speeds, preferences — as a JSON file. Import on another computer or after reinstalling. Chrome Sync also syncs preferences.
Auto-Pop on Background
Enable auto-pop and Pop Video automatically pops the video out when you switch tabs. When you return, it pops back in. Works on sites that support the browser's PiP API.
Any way you prefer
Choose your favorite way to pop videos out — keyboard, mouse, or menu.
